Synopsis
(Every Port Is Called Helena) Guillem, a twelve year-old boy, lives by a quiet canal in Bruges with his mother and his step-father, a sturdy and taciturn man who runs a barge and with whom Guillem will take a journey to the heart of Europe, from Rotterdam to the Black Sea. This book portrays the awakening of love, the power of friendship, the illusion of heroism and how music serves as a great bonding element among cultures and people. At the same time, it is a reflection of the values and misfortunes that shake Europe.
