Letraversal, 2020 | Exception

Synopsis

Something more powerful than hope or barricades is necessary to break the narrative line. There must be a desire to come together, to discover the co-officiality of neoperformance––of a body not given, not representable, not capable of being subsumed––to understand that everyone repeats the word fire but no one talks about fire itself. The state of exception you impose, of the demands hidden by going to the protest holding hands, not writing about the written, not giving pause; well, I remember clearly that accelerationist night in its accumulated contradictions, the same old thing abiding beneath the possibility of showing us differently.
