Miqui Otero (Barcelona, 1980) is a novelist, a journalist and a key figure in Barcelona’s underground scene. For years he ran chaotic DIY record companies, film and music clubs and literary fanzines. Nowadays he contributes to several media outlets and teaches Literature and Creative Journalism. Among his novels, one should mention his debut, Hilo musical (Alpha Decay, 2010 – Fnac’s New Talent Prize), La cápsula del tiempo (Blackie Books, 2012), and Rayos (Blackie Books, 2016), considered by the critics “one of the great novels of Barcelona”.

His latest work is also the most ambitious and moving novel he has written so far, Simón (Blackie Books, September 2020).
