Diccionario de cine

Planeta, 1998; Plot, 2004

(A Dictionary of Cinema) The history of cinema and so-called serious film critics have worked with a great deal of random choices, accepted truths, clichés and whims. While it’s undeniable that its objectivity is questionable, one should ask oneself–What’s the point of yet another subjective, superfluous dictionary? The answer to this question is that serious critics took almost as long to acknowledge Hitchcock’s merits as the Church to admit that women had a soul. Thus, we’ll let the reader decide whether this book is worth reading.
