La caricia del escorpión

The Scorpion’s Caress | Destino, 1998

A story of love and survival to the limit, an allegory of coupledom.

The main character, an eccentric professor of mathematics, pythagoran and with autistic tendencies, is incapable of reconciling his need for solitude with the demands and sacrifices of a life in common. Sex as  discord is very present in the frenetic search for identity that drags him along paths that are increasingly tortuous, until he is inovloved in a bloody killing. Told with great fluency, from a delicate humourous and tender tone, the resulting is a moving defence of a shared existence in times of fierce individualism.

A novel of raw love with a devastating comic treatment of the misfortunes of sex in the life of a couple.
