Todas las muñecas son carnívoras
Destino, 2006
(All the Babes Are Carnivores) Sonia La Roja is a therapist who is unable to apply in her own life that common sense that she is so good at dishing out to the wide range of neurotic patients that spend time on her couch. As if that weren’t enough, she answers questions to the lovelorn in a women’s magazine with an unorthodox method: her ‘Self-help Manual,’ a mix of cheekiness and fierce sarcasm completely devoid of self pity, sprinkled liberally with suggestive reflections on daily life and human relationships.
Half way between the urban comic neurosis of Woody Allen and Konrad Lorenz’s books on survival in the animal kingdom, this is a delightful story of vicious humour for readers who love animals, for lovers with a bit of the animal in them, and for everyone who, due to their fondness for obsession and dramatics, has the need every once in a while to release tensions with a good laugh.
(Spain, Destino / Pocket, Booket); (Italy, Guanda)
«A fun, caustic, and sometimes subtly brutal view.» Joaquín Arnáiz, La Razón
«Sarcastic and savage writing.» Elle
