Marcos GIRALT TORRENTE
Madrid, 1968
Marcos Giralt Torrente is author of the book of stories Entiéndame (Anagrama, 1995), which was his celebrated literary debut, the novel París (Premio Herralde de Novela 1999, published by Anagrama), and the novella Nada sucede solo (Ediciones del Bronce, 1999). He was writer-in-residence at the Spanish Academy in Rome, the Künstlerhaus Schloss Wiepersdorf and the University of Aberdeen, and was part of the Berlin Artists-in-Residence Programme in 2002-2003. Los seres felices (Anagrama, 2005) was his second novel.
Tiempo de vida (Anagrama, 2010), his third novel, has been acclaimed both by critics and readers, and is the winner of The 2011 National Book Award for Fiction (5th reprint!).
His latest book, the collection of short stories El final del amor (Páginas de espuma, 2011), is the winner of the International Short Fiction Award Ribera del Duero 2011, the highest endowed award for story collections in Spain.
