Felipe Benítez Reyes is an author whose literary output includes almost every genre, and who has been awarded such prestigious honors as the Critics’ Prize and the National Literature Award. Among his novels are Humo (Planeta, 1995, Ateneo de Sevilla Prize), La propiedad del paraíso (Planeta, 1995), El novio del mundo (Tusquets, 1998), El pensamiento de los monstruos (Tusquets, 2002) and  Mercado de espejismos (Destino, 2007, Nadal Award 2007).

He is also author of the book of short stories Maneras de perder (Tusquets, 1997), Tratándose de ustedes (Tusquets, 1999) and Oficios estelares (Destino, 2009), and the novels for young readers Lo que viene después de lo peor (Booket, 1998), Los libros errantes (Anaya, 2006) and El caballo cobarde (Alfaguara, 2008).

His poetry is collected in a volume entitled Libros de poemas (Visor, 2009). His latest published work is the book of poems Las Identidades (Visor, 2012).
