Joan BARRIL

Joan Barril has published thousands of editorials, features and stories in the most important Catalan and Spanish newspapers and has been recipient of many literary awards. His novels include Un submarí a les estovalles (La Campana, 1994), Condició de pare (La Campana, 1997), Parada obligatòria (Planeta, 1998, Ramon Llull Prize 1998), Tots els ports es diuen Helena (Empúries,1999, Ramon Muntaner Prize), Gairebé una parella (Planeta, 2001), Certes mentides (Columna, 23 d´Abril Prize 2002), Ja ens trucarem i altres contes del diumenge (Ediciones B, 2003), Sobre l’amor (Edicions 62, 2007), 100 Contes morals (Amsterdam Llibres, 2008), Sobre la distància. Catalunya – Espanya (Ed. 62, 2008), L’espai immens. Quaderns de Namíbia (Amsterdam Llibres, 2008), of which he is co-author alongside Vicenç Villatoro, Sobre els plaers (Edicions 62, 2009), 201 contes corrents (Ara Llibres, 2009), Les terres promeses (The Promised Land) (Edicions 62, 2010) winner of The Sant Joan Prize, the third best-endowed award for Catalan literature, and El caçador d'ombres (The Shadow Hunter) (Edicions 62, 2012) . In addition to his written work, he currently directs and hosts a daily radio show; as well as a weekly television program.
His last work is the no-ficcion book Sobre la felicitat (Edicions 62, 2013).
